Grids and Structures project

The grids and structures project was a week long project and we could base it on anything we wanted to. This project was perfect for me as my work is very structured and I often find it difficult to loosen up with my work and be more free flowing. We could use what ever media we wanted to and also include previous techniques learnt earlier on. Here are some pages from my sketchbook:

Drawing the top of the gherkin in pen

Imitating the diamond shaped glass with masking fluid and watercolour.

Layering acetates (right).

Adding colour
Experimenting

Sewing thread into the page

Making patterns on photoshop having scanned in the image above.

Using thread and wire.

Wallpaper project

This project was along side one of the technical folders we had to do. It was a very short project and it was just so we could be shown how to use photoshop so that it could then be digitally printed off on a large scale. The project brief was to use images that we had drawn from the project over the summer to create a 1.5m x 0.5m wallpaper piece. However the first wallpaper were just a try out and didn't have to be related to the original project. Here are my two that got printed off:

Although those were the two that got printed off I also created some other designs for this short project:

Looking at different scales of the camera and creating patterns from that.

Although it is more noticeable with the image on the right, both of these pieces have smaller black camera outlines behind the pink ones.
